Public Meeting to Address Flooding

September 7th, 5 -7 p.m. @ NSU Student Center
Sept. 14th, 5 – 7 p.m. @ ODU Webb Center

The Commonwealth is developing its Virginia Coastal Resilience Master Plan. Coastal resilience means building coastal communities’ capability to anticipate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from hazards, such as flooding, with minimum damage to social well-being, public health, the economy, and the environment. It also means finding opportunities to maximize community benefits that support thriving coastal communities, such as protecting our fisheries and recreational areas.

The consultant team is also focusing on those areas that are underserved. They want to hear from you about flooding challenges in your community.

2021 Neighborhood Expo

The Expo is an annual event hosted by the Department of Neighborhood Services that celebrates communities and residents across the city. Our event will focus on the positive pivots that communities are embracing after turning a corner from 2019. Telling a new story and coming together as engaged neighbors is what we are centering on. Please see the attached flyer and share with neighbors!
