Volunteers needed to help clean up litter from around the Norfolk Fitness and Wellness Center grounds with additional efforts on the wetlands between the Center and Talbot Park Apartments. The event takes place between 9am-12pm Saturday, June 1.  Tools and supplies will be provided but it will be helpful to wear waterproof boots.  Please join us to help preserve our natural habitats.

Delegate Steve Heretick to speak at the Wards Corner Civic League Meeting

Tomorrow night, Monday May 20th, The Wards Corner Civic League (WCCL) meeting will take place starting promptly at 6:30pm at the Norfolk Fitness & Wellness Center at 7300 Newport Ave.  The guest speaker will be Virginia House Delegate Steve Heretick, of the newly redistricted 79th District which has replaced the 89th District and Jay Jones.

Historically, our civic league map has been split between the 100th and the 89th Districts.  You can view the most recent District map  by clicking the “Elected Officials” tab above.

If you are totally confused, come to the meeting and all of what changed will be discussed.  In short, the Virginia General Assembly representative district maps have been redrawn, and if you were in the 89th, you are now in the 79th and Steve Keretick is your House Delegate.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night.
