Our 2025 Q4 Adopt-A-Spot cleanup is being rescheduled for a later date. It will take place along Lankford Rd (behind the former Rite Aid).
Volunteers needed to help clean up litter from around the neighborhood. Gloves, trash bags, and other supplies will be provided. It is recommended to wear sturdy boots or other solid footwear. Please join us to help preserve the natural habitats in our neighborhood. Email announcements will be made prior to each gathering.
While the Norfolk Fitness & Wellness Center is under reconstruction, we are focusing our cleanup efforts in other parts of our neighborhood. Please read our communications carefully for the designated cleanup location each quarter.
Previously, the Wards Corner Civic League Adopt-A-Spot location was the field and surrounding grounds at the Norfolk Fitness & Wellness Center bordering North Shore Ave to the north, and Newport Ave to the west. This piece of real estate was the largest green space we shared as residents within the boundaries of the our civic league region, and we felt a responsibility to keep these grounds litter free.
